American Gold Eagle Coins have looked largely the same since 1986 when the series was introduced by the United States Mint. The only visual change to occur in the series since its debut was the 1992 switch from Roman numerals to Arabic numerals for the date marks. 2021 brings with it the first major design refresh with the release of Type 2 coins featuring a new bald eagle image. Today, 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Highlights:
For the 35th anniversary of the coveted series, the United States Mint has introduced a beautiful new depiction of the bald eagle on the reverse of the Gold Eagle bullion coins. The eagle’s image was designed by Jennie Norris, a member of the US Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program.
All of these 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available with a perfect certification. Coins in Mint State 70 condition have full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present. The Early Release label denotes the timing of the coin’s arrival at the NGC. To qualify, the coins must have arrived at the NGC within 30 days of the US Mint’s release of the 2021 coins.
On the obverse of 2021 American Gold Eagles is Lady Liberty. This effigy of Liberty debuted on American currency in 1907 on the $20 Gold Double Eagle. The image shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left hand, rays of sunshine behind her figure, and a circle of 50 stars around the design.
The reverse field of 2021 1 oz Gold Eagles features the new bald eagle design from Ms. Norris. In this new design, the bald eagle’s face is shown with incredible detail in its plumage and a piercing gaze from its eye.
