In the Dreaming Down Under Series, Perth Mint features a common reverse design element. In this design concept, there is a small, wicker basket with a soft lining that holds a small young animal. The hitch with this series is that each animal is a native species to the Australian continent.
The series has been issued throughout 2021 and includes some of the most notable native species from Australia. Included in the series to date, you will find images of the Kangaroo, Koala, Dingo, and Tasmanian Devil. The release of the Wombat design is the final in the collection and offers a great conclusion.
Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse side of 2021 1/2 oz Proof Colorized Australian Silver Dreaming Down Under Wombat Coins. This is the sixth-generation effigy of Her Majesty and it was designed in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England. Introduced on Australian coins in 2018, this effigy shows the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem on her head.
