Coin Highlights:
With the release of the 2021 Gold Eagle Type 2 Coins, the United States Mint has moved its American Gold Eagle Series in a new direction. The new reverse image of an American bald eagle’s head replaces the design of a family of bald eagles from Miley Busiek. The original design had been used on the coins from 1986 until early 2021 when the Type 1 coins were issued.
All of the 2021 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase online at JM Bullion in perfect condition. Mint State 70 coins have full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present. The coins in this listing also have a First Strike label in the slab. A First Strike coin is one received by the PCGS within 30 days of the US Mint’s release of the coins to the public.
On the obverse of 2021 American Gold Eagle Coins is an effigy of Lady Liberty. This front-facing relief shows Liberty’s full-length figure walking toward the viewer. She holds up a torch to light the way and carries an olive branch in her left hand. The U.S. Capitol Building is found in the background field with sun rays emerging from the horizon and a ring of 50 stars around the design.
The reverse side of 2021 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coins features the all-new bald eagle design. Created by Jennie Norris, this new design shows a bald eagle head in left-profile relief with incredible levels of detail on the plumage of the bird.
