Coin Highlights:
Each of the 2021 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Type 2 Coins in this product listing comes with a near-perfect certification. The gold coins for sale in this listing come with a Mint State 69 certification. Coins in this condition exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of those flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines and are limited in scope to the areas outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
The all-new design on the reverse of the coins comes from Jennie Norris. Ms. Norris is an accomplished graphic designer and a professor at the University of Arizona. Her design for the reverse of the coins was submitted through the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program and chosen from more than 30 other submissions.
Obverse fields of the 2021 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin include the image of Lady Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design was created in 1907 for the $20 Gold Double Eagle Coin and used on that series until 1933. This front-facing relief of Liberty comes with her figure holding up a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The design element includes a ring of 50 stars around the edge, sun rays behind her figure, and the U.S. Capitol Building in the background.
Reverse designs on the 2021 American Gold Eagle Type 2 Coin include the new bald eagle design. Created by Jennie Norris, this design shows the bald eagle’s head with incredible levels of detail throughout the design element.
