The San Francisco Mint produced all Proof American Silver Eagles from 1986-1992. Since then, the San Francisco Mint has occasionally struck special versions of the Proof American Silver Eagle. Along with the rarity of being struck in San Francisco, this coin being issued in 2020, is one of the last to feature the heraldic eagle design by John Mercanti. Today, JM Bullion happily brings you the 2020-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle.
Coin Highlights:
2020-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins will come packaged in an NGC protective plastic slab. These coins are graded PF69 by the National Guaranty Corporation. This indicated near-perfect condition with full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detractions. UCAM proofs have strong, frosted design elements with deeply mirrored clear background fields.
Being one of the post-1992 years the San Francisco Mint struck proofs of this coin; this is among the rarest coins in the series. To add to the rarity, this coin is one of the last to feature the heraldic eagle as the United States Mint announced that a new design would be featured on 2021 versions of the coin.
The obverse side of 2020-S Proof American Silver Eagles will feature the Walking Liberty. This Adolph A. Weinman design was believed to be inspired by La Semeuse. This coin features Liberty striding toward the sunset on the horizon. Liberty is seen clutching oaken branches in her left arm and donning the American flag over her shoulder.
All 2020-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles feature the modernized depiction of the heraldic eagle on the reverse. This image is front and center showcasing the bald eagle with the national shield on its chest. Identifying marks of the coin are located around the coin’s reverse field.
