Each of the 2020 1 oz Tuvalu James Bond Series 007 Gold Coins available here comes from the initial release of 5,000. The Perth Mint introduced this design in an original issue with 5,000 coins available in total, each one packaged in a capsule. In this special, limited issue, 500 of those original coins are presented in black display cards. The card is blacked out with the iconic gun-barrel pattern in the lower-right narrowing in on the capsule that houses the coin.
Coin designer Lucas Bowers came up with the imagery for the Tuvalu James Bond Series 007 coin release using the iconic gun-barrel design created by Joseph Caroff. The design Mr. Caroff created was developed with creative director David Chasman of United Artists. His 007 gun-barrel logo has featured in the opening sequence of every film in the Eon Productions series of James Bond films.
Queen Elizabeth II is depicted in the obverse design of the 2020 1 oz Tuvalu James Bond Series 007 Gold Coin. This right-profile bust of Her Majesty was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England and has been widely used on coinage throughout the Commonwealth nations.
Mr. Caroff’s iconic gun-barrel design is found on the reverse side of 2020 Tuvalu James Bond Series 007 Gold Coins. The design features not only the gun barrel image, but also the 007 logo with its own gun element. The designs of the Perth Mint series are all officially-licensed images.
Founded in 1899, the Perth Mint is the oldest operating mint in Australia. Originally founded as a branch mint of the Royal Mint on the Australian continent. It is now a state-owned entity of Western Australia.
