Round Highlights:
Each 2020 1 oz Germania Beasts Fafnir Silver Rounds in this listing are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The silver rounds are available individually inside of protective capsules
Fafnir is one of the best-known dragons from the mythology of Norse and Germanic peoples. Dragons are common figures in Northern and Western European mythology from the Medieval Era, with Fafnir being one of the oldest dragons spoken off in cultural tales. He is said to be a wise and powerful being.
The obverse side of 2020 1 oz Germania Beasts Fafnir Silver Rounds includes a depiction of Fafnir’s head and the upper reaches of his body. Fafnir slithers along through the design field with his body emerging at the top of the design field and snaking down to his front feet and head through the bottom and into the center of the design field.
On the reverse face of the 2020 Germania Beasts Fafnir Silver Round is an image of the other half of Fafnir’s body. As if wrapping from front to back, Fafnir’s body swirls down into the design field of the reverse curling around to the tip of his tail. The lower half of his body encircles the Germania Mint seal in the center. When you view the seal right side up, you can also see the mint name and date of issue.
The Germania Mint’s seal is based on Roman mythological symbols and the coat of arms of the historic German Empire. The double-headed eagle represents a view toward the past and the future.
