These coins featured a leaping kangaroo in left-profile relief with the commonwealth star of Australia. The specific design featured on these coins is inspired by Stuart Devlin’s red kangaroo coin design.

On the reverse of 2020 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo Coins is the image of a kangaroo leaping from right to left across the design field of the coins. The background field is filled by radial sunburst lines. Each coin has .9999 pure silver content and an engraving of “Australian Kangaroo” on the top rocker.

The obverse of 2020 Australian Silver Kangaroo Coins features the impressive sixth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This image was created by Jody Clark and is based on the 2015 design for the Royal Mint of England. Unlike that design, this portrait of Her Majesty includes the Queen’s shoulders and neckline in an Australian coin portrait for the first time since 1966.

Australian Silver Kangaroo coins have sold some 26 million units since being introduced in 2016. The intense demand for these coins depleted the 2019 stock so quickly that 2020 date marked coins were moved up early in the release schedule.
