The Australian wilderness is home to a number of unique, endemic animal species you will only find natively on the continent. However, there are other wild animal species on the continent that may run outside the bounds of humanity at this point, but actually originated as domesticated animals. The Brumbies are a perfect example and now feature on a beautiful 1 oz silver coin from the Perth Mint. Right now, 2020 1 oz Australian Brumby Silver Coins are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each of the 2020 1 oz Australian Brumby Silver Coins in this product listing comes to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are packaged inside of individual plastic capsules by the mint, with multiples of 20 available in tubes.
The Brumby is a free-roaming collection of horses of various species that can be found across the country. Brumbies, as the group is popularly known, are named for soldier and pastoralist James Brumby. Upon being transferred from Sydney to Van Diemen’s Land in 1801, he had to release a number of horses he owned into the bush. The wild horses that roam Australia today are descendants of those horses Brumby released, as well as other escaped or lost horses that joined their numbers over the years.
Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse side of 2020 1 oz Australian Brumby Silver Coins. Her Majesty is depicted here in right-profile relief in a design that serves as the sixth-generation effigy for Australian coins. Originally created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England, the design was expanded for use on Australian coins in 2018 to include the Queen’s neckline and shoulders for the first time on an Australian coin since 1966.
A wild Brumby runs through a shallow pool of water on the reverse face of 2020 Australian Brumby Silver Coin. Brumbies can be found in large numbers in the Australian Alps in the southeast of Australia. Large numbers can also be found in the Northern Territory and Queensland. The reverse side of these new silver coins comes with an authentication feature in the design that is only visible with magnification.
