The Somalia Silver Elephant Coins debuted from the Bavarian State Mint in 1999 with African elephant designs for the nation of Zambia. The coins continued as the Zambian Elephants through 2003 and then transferred to Somalia staring in 2004. Originally available only as 1 oz coins, over time the series has expanded to include the aforementioned fractionals and the other large coins.
On the reverse of 2020 1 Kilo Somalia Silver Elephant Coins is the image of two African bush elephants. This design includes two elephants facing one another. The elephant on the left has long tusks that exceed the length of its trunk, while the elephant on the right has shorter tusks. Between the two, you will notice the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background field.
The obverse of 2020 Somalia Silver Elephant Coins features the design of Somalia’s coat of arms. The crowned shield on this side includes a background field of horizontal lines with a single star set in the middle.
