The Lunar Series III collection stands apart from its predecessors in two important ways. First and foremost, the Perth Mint will now use the same design on more than one version of the bullion coins. The Lunar Series II coins had unique images each year for the silver and gold coins, and that will continue in the Lunar Series III issues.

However, there will be a repeat use of the image of the mouse for the 2020 Mouse coins in the form of a new third bullion option. For the first time in Lunar Series history, the Perth Mint will offer a 1 oz platinum coin in the series as well. That 1 oz platinum coin will have the same design with each release as the gold bullion coins in the series.

On the reverse of these 2020 1/4 oz Australian Gold Lunar Mouse Coins is the image of a mouse surrounded by wheat stalks. The stalks curve with the edge of the coin and the mouse is shown reaching up one of the wheat stalks with its front paws.

The obverse of 2020 Australian Gold Lunar Mouse Coins includes the latest portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted here in right-profile relief in the sixth-generation design for Australian coins created by Jody Clark. This design is the first of the Queen on an Australian coin since 1966 to include her shoulders and neckline in the portrait.

These 2020 1/4 oz Australian Gold Lunar Mouse Coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and come with an unlimited mintage. The Perth Mint will strike the 1/4 oz and all other fractional coins to meet demand through the end of 2020. The coins are available individually in acrylic capsules or in rolls of 20.
