The Perth Mint is back with all-new designs on its silver coins for sale in its lunar collection. The Lunar Series III coins debut with the 2020 Year of the Mouse design bearing a fresh creation from artist Ing Ing Jong. Ms. Jong has been working on Lunar Series designs since 2013 and has new options for the gold and silver coins. Each 2020 1/2 oz Australian Silver Lunar Mouse Coin in this product listing comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in the 1/2 oz silver release are offered inside of either an individual acrylic capsule or a box of 100 coins. The 1/2 oz silver coin is available to you as the smallest coin in the Lunar Series III collection.
As with the preceding Lunar Series II program, the coins in the Lunar Series III program have two different versions of each design to offer. These silver bullion coins have a different design for the Year of the Mouse compared to the gold bullion coin and the all-new platinum bullion coin in the series.
On the obverse of 2020 1/2 oz Australian Silver Lunar Mouse Coins is the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the debut of Jody Clark’s sixth-generation effigy of the Queen on lunar-themed coinage from the Perth Mint. This portrait captures the Queen in right-profile relief and is the first to include her neckline and shoulders in the image since 1966.
The reverse face of 2020 Australian Silver Lunar Mouse Coins features a distinct Year of the Mouse image. Ing Ing Jong’s design for the silver coins in the collection includes two mice on a corn stalk. The duo is featured peeling back the ear of corn and chomping down. There is a micro-engraved security feature on this side of the coin that consists of a letter only visible under magnification.
