Kangaroos, which are part of the animal family Macropus, are known for their extraordinary leaping abilities. In some cases, these marsupials can bound up to thirty feet in a single leap. Another prominent feature of the kangaroo is the pouch found on females that is used for protecting their young. Known as joeys, these young kangaroos will usually remain in their mother’s pouch for the first four months of their life. By ten months, they are usually fully independent.
Each 2020 1/2 Gram Australian Mini Roo Coin will arrive to you in a special presentation card. These cards have black and orange coloring and feature a row of kangaroos across the center. The coins were produced and manufactured by the Perth Mint and consist of .9999 pure gold.
The obverse of 2020 Australian Gold Mini Roo Coins features Queen Elizabeth II. This design is by Jody Clark, who produced it for the Royal Mint in 2015. Most countries consider this the 5th Generation portrait, but in Australia, it is the 6th Generation design and differs slightly from the original with its inclusion of the Queen’s shoulders and neckline. Along the rim, there are inscriptions of the country of origin, year, and denomination.
On the reverse field of 2020 1/2 Gram Gold Mini Roo Coins, there is an adult kangaroo with its joey. They are each depicted on their back feet facing left. Inscriptions read 0.5 Gram, .9999 Gold. There is also a P mintmark, which stands for Perth.
