The South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Series is issued by KOMSCO, the official sovereign mint of the Republic of Korea. Introduced in 2016, the series first offered only 1 oz options in the silver and gold bullion versions of the medals. As of 2017 though, the South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medals offer fractional-ounce weights as well, with the 1/10 oz gold option the most popular among those. Medal Highlights:
Each of the 2020 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medals in this product listing come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The medals in the 1/10 oz gold weight are packaged individually inside of sealed assay card packs. The pack includes a capsule space housing the gold medal. The assay card offers authentication of the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number of the individual gold medal.
For the 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medals, KOMSCO packages the medals in special assay card packs. The assay cards have a hologram of Do ggae bi on one side and come with four different colors. The medals are issued split evenly among four different colors with just 250 of those gold medals packaged in these blue assay cards.
The obverse side of the 2020 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medal features a new depiction of Do ggae bi. This is the first time in the history of the series that Do ggae bi’s image has been altered. The beast still features on the battle shield of Chiwoo, but this year’s bust shows the figure with a smile on its face and some enhanced features. These include more noticeable teeth, eyebrows, and nostrils, with bull’s horns enhanced on the head as well.
On the reverse face of 2020 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medals is a depiction of Chiwoo facing the Hell Gate. The God of War and Guardian of Peace, Chiwoo must again muster his forces for another battle as the Hell Gate emerges from beneath his empire and threatens to unleash the forces of evil on the mortal world.
