By 1998, it had become the second most popular coin in the collection behind the 1 oz gold version. On the obverse side of each 2020 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin, you will find the figure of the Great Pipe Organ. Used during performances of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the pipe organ is located inside of the Musikverein in Vienna.
The reverse field of 2020 1/10 oz Gold Philharmonic Coins includes an array of musical instruments, many of which are routinely used by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in its performances. This design includes a cello in the center, two violins on either side, and a background field with a bassoon, harp, and French horn.
2020 Austrian Philharmonic Coins all have designs created by Thomas Pesendorfer. The Chief Engraver of the Austrian Mint, Mr. Pesendorfer’s designs are also featured on the silver and platinum bullion versions of the coin.
