On the obverse of the American Silver Eagle in the set is the image of Walking Liberty as created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. The reverse of the Silver Eagle includes the heraldic eagle of the United States from John Mercanti.
The obverse side of the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf features Susanna Blunt’s 2003 effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. On the reverse of the Silver Maple Leaf is Walter Ott’s 1979 design of the sugar maple leaf.
These coins each bear unique finishes from the respective mints. The US Mint struck the Silver Eagles as reverse proof coins with frosted backgrounds and mirrored design elements. The Royal Canadian Mint issued the Silver Maple Leaf with selective fields alternating between frosted and mirrored finishes. The Silver Maple Leaf also features a unique maple leaf border design on both sides.
