Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins debuted from the Royal Canadian Mint in 1988, two years after the American Silver Eagle coin in the United States and nearly a decade after its gold counterpart the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. The Silver Maple Leaf trailed the Chinese Silver Panda and American Silver Eagle making it to market, but still made a splash as the first-ever .9999 pure silver bullion coin in the world.
All 2019 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins in this product listing are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins feature individual packaging for single purchases, mint tubes of 25, or mint boxes containing 500 coins in total. The boxes have a total of 20 individual tubes inside.
In 2018, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced new MINTSHIELD Technology to the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coin. The mint’s first coin to feature the technology, MINTSHIELD is designed to prevent problematic milk spots or white spots that can appear on silver bullion coins as a result of coining flaws. The application of MINTSHIELD does nothing to diminish the condition of the coins or the purity of the silver.
On the reverse of 2019 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins is the image of the sugar maple leaf. In use on Canadian Maple Leaf coins since 1979, this design was created by Walter Ott and appears on the gold, platinum, and palladium versions of the coin as well.
The obverse of all 2019 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted in right-profile relief in a design created in 2002 by Susanna Blunt and released to Canadian coinage starting in 2003.
