The Mexican Gold Libertad coin debuted in 1981 and was available for just one year with a 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz coin. The coins returned as an annual issue in 1991 with those same three coins and two more options in the form of the 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz coins. The 1 oz Gold Libertad boasts the highest recorded mintage figure in the series with 596,000 coins sold in the 1981 debut issue.
All 2019 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coins in this product listing comes to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are sold individually packaged inside of protective packaging. Although mintage figures for the 1 oz coin, and all other weights in the series, have dropped significantly over the years, it remains one of the most popular of the five. The 2018 1 oz coin had a mintage of just 2,050 and was behind the 2,500 coins issued in the 1/20 oz weight.
On the obverse of 2019 Mexican Gold Libertad Coins is the image of Winged Victory. The design featured here was modified from the original design found on the 1921 issue of the gold Centenario coin. It retains the traditional images though of a winged woman standing with a wreath crown in one hand and broken chains in the other hand. Engravings on this face include the coin’s weight, purity, metal content, and mint mark from the Mexican Mint.
The reverse of 2019 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coins offer the design of the modern coat of arms of Mexico. The 1 oz coin is the only gold bullion coin in the Gold Libertad series with the 10 historic versions of the seal surrounding the modern design. The fractional coins lack the space on the reverse for the additional 10 versions of the seal.
