Santa Claus is the most famous figure in the popularized social celebrations of Christmas. The fictional figure goes by many names, such as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, and Kris Kringle, Santa uses his team of flying reindeer to guide his sled around the world on Christmas Eve to deliver toys to all the good girls and boys.
On the obverse side of 2019 1 oz Merry Christmas Copper Rounds is a depiction of Santa Claus looking at the viewer. This design captures the common image of Santa Claus known to Western Christian cultures. With a thick, full beard and mustache you can still make out the full, rosy cheeks of his jolly figure. His hat is topped with a bell and he has a pleasant smile on his face. With a few snowflakes falling in the background, the inscription “Merry Christmas” is included.
The reverse of 2019 1 oz Merry Christmas Copper Rounds includes a design field with various snowflakes. Like snowflakes you find in nature, each one of these has a different size, shape, and style. There is a ribbon in the center of the design field with the date mark of “2019” inscribed on it. Other inscriptions on this side include “1 oz Copper .999 Fine” and “GSM,” the initials of the mint.
