The popular Lunar Series II bullion coin collection came to a conclusion in 2019 with the release of the Year of the Pig designs. The final year in the 12-year cycle of the Zodiac, the collection in 2019 featured all of the staples of the Perth Mint series. There were also some unique, notable low-mintage issues. Today, the 2019 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Pig Lion Privy Coin is available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The Lunar Series collections from the Perth Mint represent the industry standard when it comes to lunar design themes. First introduced in 1996 with the Lunar Series I debut, the collection continues uninterrupted into 2019 with the 12th and final design of the Lunar Series II collection. This series brought with it a broader range of silver coins for investors and collectors to choose from and set the stage for the continuation of the program into 2020 with the Lunar Series III debut.
All of the 2019 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Pig Lion Privy Coins in this product listing are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are available individually with a protective plastic capsule or inside of sealed rolls for multiples of 20 coins.
On the obverse face of the 2019 Australian Silver Lunar Pig Lion Privy Coin is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here for the final time on a major Australian bullion coin in the fourth-generation British design, the fifth on Australian coins, created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. Starting in 2019, other major bullion coins at the Perth Mint transitioned to the new Jody Clark design, but to maintain continuity in the Lunar Series II collection, this final coin was released with the Broadley effigy.
The reverse side of 2019 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Pig Lion Privy Coins features the Ing Ing Jong design of a sow with her four small piglets. The Year of the Pig design is included with a lion privy mark to the left of the design field. This privy depicts a large male African lion with its traditional mane.
