In 2017, the 1/50 oz and 1/2 Gram Somalia Gold Elephants were introduced.
On the obverse of the 2019 1/50 oz Somalia Gold Elephant Coin is a depiction of the Somali coat of arms. The national emblem comes with a crowned shield that has a background field of horizontal lines. The shield bears a single star in the center with leopards supporting the shield from either side. Fern leaves and spears are crossed below the design and draped with a ribbon.
