Each of the 2019 1/20 oz Australian Gold Pig Coins available to you in this listing represents the smallest denomination in the collection. The Lunar Series II collection launched in 2008 from the Perth Mint and followed up its popular Lunar Series I collection. The Year of the Pig brings a close to this popular series. The 2019 Lunar Series Gold Coins are available in weights ranging from this low of 1/20 oz through three other fractional weights and up to 1 oz, 2 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo gold options.
In keeping with other issues in the series, Ing Ing Jong has developed a different Year of the Pig image for both the silver and gold coins. The only weight in the gold series to have a limited mintage figure is the 1 oz coin. All others will be struck to meet demand from investors through the end of the 2019 calendar year.
On the obverse of 2019 1/20 oz Australian Gold Pig Coins is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the popular fourth-generation design from Ian Rank-Broadley. It was created in 1998 for the Royal Mint of England and continues in use on the Lunar Series II collection from Perth Mint to ensure continuity in the series.
The reverse includes the image of a large, adult pig. The pig on this side is featured alone, with a tree branch in the background field and rocks at its feet. The phrase Year of the Pig is included on this side along with the Chinese symbol for Pig.
