Each of the 2018 5 oz Fiji Terracotta Silver Coins in this listing is available to you individually with a drawstring cotton bag to house the coin. The individual coins also come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Scottsdale Mint. The coins are unique courtesy of the antique polish and ruptured edge.
The Fiji Terracotta Silver Coins have an antique polish that delivers a frosted appearance to the coins and the visual appeal of ancient currency. Further, each coin has a so-called ruptured edge. This rough appearance makes the coins seem as though they were chiseled right out of a stone slab.
On the obverse of each 2018 Fiji Terracotta Silver Coins is the coat of arms for Fiji. The shield in the center features symbols of the seafaring history and relation to the ocean that native Fijians possess. There is a sailing craft above the shield and two Fijians supporting the shield on either side. Engravings include the weight, purity, metal content, face value, nation of issue, and date of issue.
The reverse of 2018 5 oz Fiji Terracotta Silver Coin features the image of some of the loyal Terracotta Army warriors. The design focuses on one of the many warriors in the collection from Qin Shi Huang. He was the founder of the Qin Dynasty and ruled as China’s first emperor for 10 years from 220 to 210 BC.
Inside of his tomb, he ordered the construction of an eternal army to protect him in the afterlife. The Terracotta Army was discovered by farmers in 1974 and includes more than 8,000 life-size soldiers, horses, and chariots made out of clay.
