The 2018 5 oz Colorized ATB Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Silver Coins are currently available to you for online purchase from JM Bullion!
Coin Highlights:
Set in Alger County, Michigan near the city of Munising, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore extends along 42 miles of Lake Superior shoreline on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The park covers more than 73,000 acres of space with extensive views of hilly shoreline between the cities of Munising and Grand Marais in Michigan.
The reverse side of the 2018 5 oz Colorized ATB Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Silver Coin includes a breathtaking late-day depiction of Chapel Rock, one of the most famous locations in the park. The scene comes to life with subtle hues of white and blue in the background, the choppy waters of Lake Superior topped by whitecaps in the background. Summer’s colors are in full bloom on the trees around Chapel Rock as they are colorized with rich green hues.
As the name suggests, the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore gets its name from the natural beauty found throughout the region. It is home to various picturesque rock formations, waterfalls, and even sand dunes. The colorful sandstone cliffs are largely located northeast of Munising and some reach as high as 200 feet above the shoreline.
The obverse of all 2018 Colorized ATB Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Silver Coins includes the portrait of George Washington. The first president’s image featured here was created by John Flanagan in 1932 for the US quarter and based upon a 1786 bust created when the President was in office.
