Armenia’s official silver bullion coin was released in 2011 by Germany’s Geiger Edelmetalle. It is one of the few silver coins available today for investors that comes in sizes beyond just 1 oz. The Armenian Noah’s Ark Coins are issued each year in 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz coins, as well as 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo coins.
The Armenian Noah’s Ark Coins debuted with just the 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz silver coins in 2011, but it was only a year before the coin series was boosted with the release of new weights. These 10 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coins debuted with 2,003 coins struck, and dropped in 2013, but have risen in demand each year from 2014 onward.
On the obverse of the 2018 10 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark you’ll find the coat of arms for the nation of Armenia. At the center of the shield, you’ll notice a small rendition of Noah’s Ark as it comes to a rest on Mount Ararat, with engravings of the national name in both English and Armenian.
The reverse of the Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin features the scene of Noah’s Ark at sea on the floodwaters. God sent 40 days of rain to flood the world and cleanse mankind of its sins, sparing only Noah, his family, and two of every creature on planet Earth in an ark Noah built. The boat cruised the floodwaters for 40 days waiting for the rain to end. On this side you’ll find the ark in the center, with the sun rising over Mount Ararat in the background and a dove flying into the foreground.
All 2018 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins are available in BU condition. Coins in BU condition show no signs of wear and tear, but you may notice minor flaws. These flaws range from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks stemming from the striking of dies.
