Winged Victory as shown on the Proof Silver Libertad coins is based upon the statue of her figure atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column. Erected in 1921, the column stands in the center of Mexico City to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the nations independence from Spain.

The modern coat of arms is featured in the center of the design field, with 10 historic depictions of the symbol surrounding it in a circle.
