These silver coins for sale are part of the Skulls Series produced by Coin Invest Trust (CIT). The series was created as a response to the popularity of skulls. The series features small silver and gold skulls that were created just for the Republic of Palau. The skulls come in various sizes, designs, and finishes made using the mint’s own Smartminting technology, which allows these coins to have a special High Relief finish.
The coins have a unique antique finish that makes them appear older than they actually are. The Sugar Skull design was the third created for CIT’s Skull Series.
We ship these coins in protective plastic capsules to provide protection during the shipping process. The capsules can further protect the finish and surface of the coins during storage as well.
The obverse features a beautiful sugar skull design with design elements such as crosses, flowers, and hearts. The skull is shown with eyes and a full set of teeth. This side of the coin is three-dimensional and looks very much like a real sugar skull.
On the reverse, you will find the Coat of Arms for the Republic of Palau, which showcases Neptune holding his trident next to a treasure chest and mermaid. Above the crest, there is a small kayak, which represents the migration of Palau’s population. The inscriptions on this side of the coin include “Republic of Palau,” “2018,” “.999,” and “$5.”
Established in 1970, CIT is located in the small European country of Liechtenstein. The mint produces silver coins for numerous countries across the globe, and it is constantly making new standards using its own Smartminting technology. Smartminting allows the mint to strike coins in higher relief without needing to add extra metal.
