Each of the 2018 ¼ oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins in this listing is in BU condition. Coins in this condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice minor flaws. These flaws include potential breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks from the coining process.
The Silver Noah’s Ark coins debuted in 2011 with a ¼ oz, ½ oz, and 1 oz option. To this day the ¼ oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin remains the smallest in the series, but others have joined the collection. After just one year, the mint added four new weights to the program. In 2012, the 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 kilo coins joined the collection.
On the obverse of all 2018 ¼ oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins is the image of the coat of arms for the Republic of Armenia. The design includes the national shield, which itself has an image in the center that depicts Noah’s Ark resting atop Mount Ararat. The shield is flanked by a lion and an eagle, and the engravings read “Republic of Armenia” in both English and Armenian.
The reverse of the Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coin includes the design of the seminal moment in the biblical tale of Noah’s ark. With the sun emerging after 40 days of rains and flooding, a single dove returns to the massive boat with an olive branch signifying it was able to find dry land. The sun rises over Mount Ararat in the background.
All Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins are a product of Geiger Edelmetalle. The German mint has produced the coins in this series every year since 2011.
