Australia’s Gold Kangaroo program is one of the most coveted gold bullion coins available today. The series launched in 1986, and until 1989 was known as the Australian Gold Nugget. Beginning in 1990, with the introduction of the Australian Silver Kookaburra, the program was changed to feature a kangaroo and help launch the popular annual releases of the Perth Mint featuring native wildlife species.
All 2018 1/10 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins in this listing are in BU condition. Coins in BU condition have no signs of wear and tear, but may feature minor flaws from the production process. These are limited in scope to breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks.
The reverse of all 2018 1/10 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins includes the newest design in the collection. For 2018, the design features two red kangaroos as they hop across a rural landscape. Included with the design are inscriptions of the series name, the year of issue, and the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content.
On the obverse of all Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins you’ll find the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s effigy has appeared on Australian coinage since 1952 and is regularly updated to depict her age more accurately. These coins have the fourth-generation image of the Queen created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley.
