The top seller among the fractional-weight American Gold Eagle coins is routinely the 1/10 oz option. This diminutive coin offers just 1/10 Troy oz of actual gold content, but has become so popular at times it outsells the primary 1 oz gold coin in the collection. Right now, 2018 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to purchase online from JM Bullion with NGC certification.

Each 2018 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coin listed here is in near-perfect condition. The NGC certifies a coin Mint State 69 if it exhibits full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws must be limited in type and scope to minuscule hairlines or contact marks found only outside the primary focal areas.
As an Early Release specimen, the Gold Eagle coins had to arrive for certification at the NGC or an approved third-party depository within a certain timeframe. Each coin must arrive within 30 days of the 2018 release date the United States Mint set.
1/10 oz American Gold Eagle coins have become increasingly popular in this series as the price of gold rises, pushing some investors out of the market for 1 oz or larger coins. In 1986, the 1/10 oz coin sold 912,609 units, the best among fractional weights. During the Y2K scare of 1998 and 1999, the 1/10 oz coin sold 1.3 million units and 2.75 million units, the latter marking the first time the 1 oz gold coin was outsold. In 2015 and 2016, the 1/10 oz coin again outperformed all others with 980,000 and 770,000 units sold respectively.
On the obverse of all 2018 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle coins is Lady Liberty. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, she is featured striding forward from the nation’s capital in Washington DC with a guiding light torch in her right hand and an olive branch in the other.
The reverse of all American Gold Eagle coins features the image of a family of nesting bald eagles. Designed specifically for the Gold Eagles in 1986 by Miley Busiek, it captures a male eagle flying to the nest where a female guards the hatchling.
