Arguably one of the most popular coins in the world today is the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf. Eclipsed in popularity and demand only by the American Silver Eagle, this annual issue bullion coin from the Royal Canadian Mint is a well-known commodity in the precious metals market. Today, the 2017 1 oz Colorized Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin is available to you online from JM Bullion.

Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins share the same design features of the Gold Maple Leaf, which was introduced nine years earlier. The Silver Maple Leaf has undergone fewer changes in its history than the gold version. For example, it has always featured .9999 pure silver while the gold debuted in just .999 purity.
Conversely, the Silver Maple Leaf has less variety, being offered only in a 1 oz weight while the gold has a 1 oz. and four fractional-weights. The reverse and obverse design sets are shared by both coins and never change from one year to the next.
All 2017 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins listed here are in BU condition. Coins in this condition have no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice minor flaws ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks from the production process.
On the reverse of the 2017 1 oz Colorized Canadian Silver Maple Leaf you’ll find one of the simple colorizations in this series of six. Only the sugar maple leaf itself is colorized, with rich green tones in the center of the leaf giving way to browner hues at the tips of the leaf.
The obverse of all Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this image is exclusive to the obverse side of Canadian coinage, and not used by any other commonwealth nation.
The Royal Canadian Mint is the sovereign mint of Canada, and is responsible for the original production of these coins. The mint rarely colorizes its Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins, and in this case the colorization has been done by Emporium Hamburg.
