The Chinese Gold Panda coin is one of the longest running gold bullion programs in the world. First introduced in 1982, only the South African Gold Krugerrand and the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin have been available for a longer period of time than the Gold Panda coin. Today, the 2017 3 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins are available to purchase from JM Bullion.

Chinese Gold Panda coins debuted from the Chinese Mint in 1982. Like many official gold bullion coin programs from sovereign mints, these coins have long featured the image of an animal important to the nation and its history.
Unlike many other programs, the Chinese Gold Panda and its silver counterpart use a different design set on the obverse side every year. While the motif is always focused on the Giant Panda species, the specific design elements used have been changed every year with the exception of the 2001 and 2002 coins which used the same design.
These 2017 3 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins replace the previously issued 1/10 oz Chinese Gold Panda. Starting in 2016, the Chinese Mint shifted to the use of Grams in measuring the weight of its coins and marking those weights on the coin, rather than continuing the use of Troy ounces.
On the obverse of the Chinese Gold Panda Coin is an all-new panda design. The panda is a species of bear endemic to the mountainous regions of China, specifically its interior regions and southern mountain ranges.
The reverse of the 2017 3 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coin bears the same design it has since 1982. The Temple of Heaven, built in the 15th century in Beijing, is featured on the reverse along with engravings of the Mandarin-language “People’s Republic of China” and the year of issue.
All 2017 3 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins available today from JM Bullion are in BU condition. Coins in BU condition have no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice minor flaws ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks from striking during the production process.
The Chinese Mint is the official sovereign mint facility of the People’s Republic of China. It includes various facilities, but as Chinese Gold Panda coins do not bear mint marks, it’s impossible to determine where the coins originate.

“Love me some pandas!! This little beauty is the size of a dime. For us dolts that don’t understand mm’s and all that fancy talk, I recommend JM give a size comparison to a common coin. That’s the only thing keeping my 99.9% perfection rating of JM from jumping up to 100%. Anyhow, this panda is beautiful. I ordered her 2 days prior to returning home from a business trip. You’ll never guess what was waiting in my mailbox when i got back? Yep, my panda!! JM your shipping is so insanely quick one can’t help but think you have Santa working for you! I always wondered what he did the rest of the year. Now I know. He is a delivery driver for JM Bullion.”
