The reverse of 2017 2 oz British Silver Red Dragon of Wales Coins includes the famed beast from Welsh heritage. A popular symbol within the House of Tudor, particularly King Henry VIII, the Red Dragon was originally the symbol of Owen Tudor. The Red Dragon in this design supports the shield of Llewelyn ap Griffith, the last native Prince of Wales. His shield is quartered and features a leopard in each one.
