The obverse of all Australian Silver Rooster coins bears the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This fourth-generation depiction of the Queen comes from Ian Rank-Broadley, and was created in 1998.

The Early Release designation is reserved for those coins which arrive at the NGC or an approved third-party depository within a certain time frame. Coins must arrive at the NGC within the first 30 days of the Perth Mints release date for 2017 dated coins in order to qualify.
Lunar Series II coins are part of a 12-year cycle following the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Each new release features a design, one for gold and another for silver, that reflects the animal represented on the Zodiac that year.
