All 2017 15 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins in this listing are in BU condition. Coins in BU condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice a variety of minor flaws such as breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks from the coining process.
In 2016, the Chinese Panda coin series became the first in the world to feature its measurements in Grams. All coins, both gold and silver, now have engravings of the weight in Grams, rather than Troy ounces, to bring the series in line with the Metric system used in China.
These 2017 15 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins have a weight of 8 Grams in total, making them a replacement for the previous issue of 1/2 oz. Chinese Gold Panda coins, which had been available in that weight since the coin’s 1982 introduction.
On the obverse of the Chinese Gold Panda is the image of a panda. The Giant Panda, an endemic species to China, has featured in a new design each year on the Chinese Gold Panda coin, with the exception of 2001 and 2002 designs which were repeated.
The reverse of all 2017 15 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coins features the design of the Temple of Heaven. Just one building in a larger religious complex in south-central Beijing, the temple was built in the 15th century and has appeared on the reverse every year without ever being changed or altered.
Chinese Gold Panda coins, and their silver counterparts, are available from the Chinese Mint. With facilities in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang, the Chinese Mint produces these coins at locations across the country, but does not use mint marks to identify the mint of origin.

“Great looking coin which arrived in less than 24 hours with my other products. It’s luster is unique compared to other gold coins as it radiates depth. Super nice coin making me want that 30 gram Panda even more. Another fantastic transaction JM, thanks.”
