Each 2017 10 oz Somalia Silver Elephant Coin available today from JM Bullion is a BU specimen. Coins in this condition show no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice minor flaws ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks as a result of striking during the production process.
The reverse of the 2017 Somalia Silver Elephant coin features the coat of arms for Somalia. The nations official seal has a pair of leopards, one on each side, holding up the heraldic shield. On the shield is a single star, similar to the national flag, set against a backdrop of horizontal lines.
On the obverse of all 2017 10 oz Somalia Silver Elephant Coins is the new elephant design for 2017. The worlds largest land mammal is depicted standing on the open Savannah, with a small patch of grass in the immediate foreground and a hut with palm tree for shade in the background.
Somalia Silver Elephants debuted as .999 pure silver coins with 1 oz and 1 Kilo weights back in 2004. Today the coins are available with .9999 purity (as of 2016), and feature six new weights for 2017.
