Struck by the North American Mint, this series of Silverbug Island rounds is inspired by the online community r/Silverbugs on Reddit. From 2014 to 2015, the North American Mint created 3 silver rounds for the online community. The Silverbug Island Series debuted shortly after in 2015. Although the plan was for 8 rounds to be produced, only 6 were struck from 2015 to 2019. As of 2025, the subreddit has over 185,000 members.
