The 2017 1 oz Rwandan Silver Lunar Rooster Coin is the first release in a new 12-year program for the Republic of Rwanda. The Year of the Rooster launches the series, and will be followed by the Year of the Dog, Pig, Mouse, and Ox through the first five years. The program will conclude in 2028 with the Year of the Monkey release.
Mintage figures for the 2017 1 oz Rwandan Silver Lunar Rooster Coin have not been set for this BU product. Instead, minting will take place to meet demand only from December 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017. Other releases in the Rwandan Lunar Collection include a 1 oz gold BU coin and a 1 oz silver proof coin.
