Each 2017 ½ oz Somalia Silver Elephant Coin available to you today is a Brilliant Uncirculated specimen. Coins with a BU grade show no signs of wear and tear. However, you may notice flaws including breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or even contact marks from striking during the production process.
The reverse of each 2017 Somalia Silver Elephant Coin includes the image of the coat of arms for Somalia. The heraldic shield of the country features horizontal lines in the background with a single star in the center, as well as two leopards, one on either side.
On the obverse of the 2017 ½ oz Somalia Silver Elephant Coin is the latest design in the African Wildlife elephant series. This year’s depiction features a large elephant in the foreground standing in the tall grass. The background is dominated by a small hut, single palm tree, and the sun/moon just cresting the edge of the design field.
Somalia Silver Elephant coins are an annual bullion product from the Bavarian State Mint. The mint is one of Germany’s four primary minting facilities, and is a state-owned entity of the Free State of Bavaria.
