As the United States Mint celebrates 30 years of its most popular coin release, the latest versions of the collector’s gold coin are now available from JM Bullion. Struck in 31 of the past 30 years of availability, the 2016 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle coin is now available as a perfect specimen from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
American Gold Eagle coins will not feature any special marks or changes in the design on the obverse or reverse surfaces. However, the US Mint will depart from standard specifications on the proof and burnished coins in 2016, issuing the coins without a reeded edge for the first time. These coins will have a smooth finish instead, along with engravings celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the American Eagle.
Each 2016 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle available here today has a perfect PR70 grade from the PCGS. Coins in this condition have full, original luster from the mint and lack any detracting flaws on their surfaces. DCAM proof coins have a strong, frosted finish on the design set and a deeply-mirrored, clear background field.
As a First Strike coin, these American Gold Eagle proofs are special. Each one had to arrive at the PCGS depository or an approved outside depository within the first 24 hours of the release date set by the United States Mint.
On the obverse is the familiar Liberty design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse of all coins in the series feature the exclusive Miley Busiek design that includes a family of bald eagles in its nest.
