The American Silver Eagle is the single most popular silver bullion coin in the world today, and as of 2015 it was setting and breaking sales records at a stunning pace. 44 million of these coins sold in 2014 alone, followed by another record with 47 million in 2015. As the United States Mint celebrates the 30th anniversary of the American Eagle, there’s now a 2016 American Silver Eagle gilded coin available for purchase from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Gilded coins bring the best of both gold and silver together on one precious metals product. These 2016 American Silver Eagle coins feature the standard .999 pure silver blanks from the United States Mint, with a 24-karat gold gilded finish on Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design on the obverse.
The gilded finish of the coin is limited in scope to the image of Lady Liberty, including the American flag draped over her shoulders, as well as the rising sun, its rays of sunshine, and the mountain over which it crests in the design.
Each of the 2016 American Silver Eagle coins in this product listing is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in BU condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear from handling, although you may notice breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks.
On the obverse face of the coin is the image of Walking Liberty. Originally created by Weinman in 1916, it featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. Former-US Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti created the heraldic eagle design for the reverse. This image has appeared on US coins since the first days of the US Mint, but Mercanti’s design is a modern depiction of the heraldic eagle.

"I have purchased several hundred ounces of silver coins from JM Bullion, and this gilded AE is beautiful in detail and quality! Although I primarily "stack" silver, I also appreciate the intrinsic quality of these gilded coins. Thank you JM Bullion for offering them to us!"
