One of the most exciting coin programs from the United States Mint is the America the Beautiful series. Each new coin has a different design, available only for a limited time in a given calendar year, and then those designs are never released again. Totaling 56 coins with five releases per year, ATB Silver Coins have quickly become a collector favorite. The 2016 5 oz ATB Theodore Roosevelt National Park Silver Coin is available today from JM Bullion.

Theodore Roosevelt was the president responsible for launching the national parks and forest systems in the United States. An avid hunter, he was also concerned with conservation and believed in protecting the natural wonders of America for generations to come.
As a big-game hunter, he traveled as far away as Africa to hunt, but North Dakota was a place that was special in his heart. He often traveled to the state to hunt and even ended up owning land with a cabin in the central part of the state. Theodore Roosevelt National Park was established in 1978 and sits on three geographically separate plots of land in the north-central region of North Dakota.
On the reverse of each 2016 5 oz ATB Theodore Roosevelt National Park Silver Coin is the image of the nation’s 26th president on horseback as he surveys the land below him in the Missouri River valley.
The obverse of all ATB Silver Coins includes the same left-profile portrait of President George Washington used on all American circulation quarters. Washington’s image for these coins was created in 1932 by John Flanagan, who based his work on a 1786 bust of the man from William Cousins.
Each 2016 5 oz ATB Theodore Roosevelt National Park Silver Coin in this listing is in near-perfect condition according to the NGC. Coins with an MS69 grade exhibit full, original mint luster, but also bear a maximum of two minor detracting flaws such as miniscule hairlines or contact marks.
The DPL designation these coins carry indicates that, although they are bullion strikings, they have a proof-like finish. In particular, you’ll notice a deeply-mirrored finish to the background of these ATB Silver Coins.
