One of the most coveted coins in the world right now is the Chinese Silver Panda from the Chinese Mint. Although its mintage numbers don’t match other popular programs, the ever-changing designs featured on the coin’s obverse make it a must-have item for many investors and collectors. The 2016 30 Gram Chinese Silver Panda coin is now available as a near-perfect specimen from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
- New listing in Grams for 2016!

- Face value of ¥10 (Yuan) is fully backed by the Chinese government.

- Features the latest Giant Panda design.
The Giant Panda is a well-known species from the Asian continent, and is found exclusively in the western and central mountainous regions of China. Although the dragon remains the official symbol of the People’s Republic of China, the panda has become known as an unofficial emblem of the nation.
Each of the 2016 30 Gram Chinese Silver Panda coins available today from JM Bullion is considered a near-perfect specimen by the NGC. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster, but also feature as many as two minor detracting flaws on the surface, such as miniscule contact marks.
For 2016, the Chinese Mint has shifted its weight system away from the traditional Troy ounces measurement used by the vast majority of mints around the globe. Instead, the Chinese Mint has adopted a measurement system using Grams to more accurately reflect the metric system of weights and measures used in Chinese culture.
On the obverse face of the coin you’ll find the latest image of the panda, which this year consists of a panda climbing along the trunk of a fallen tree. The now-standard wall of bamboo is in the background, with the face value, weight, metal content, and purity engraved on this side.
The reverse side of the coin features the common image used on all Chinese Panda coins, that of the Temple of Heaven in central Beijing. This side of the coin bears an engraving along the top in Mandarin which reads “People’s Republic of China,” with the year of issue featured below.
