The 2016 2 oz British Silver Queen’s Beast Lion Coin is available to you only today from JM Bullion with a perfect NGC certification.
Coin Highlights:
With the release of the Lion of England design, the Royal Mint embarked on an exciting new 10-coin series that expands its offering of bullion coins in both silver and gold. The series will feature new designs commemorating the 1953 coronation of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey.
Clark is the same man who just reimagined Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait for the obverse of all 2016-issue British and commonwealth coinage. Her Majesty’s portrait has not been updated to reflect her age since 1998, when Sir Ian Rank-Broadley created the right-profile portrait still in use by some mints.
On the reverse of the coin is the Lion of England design feature. This image depicts the heraldic Lion of England standing on its hind legs with the official shield of Britain in front of it. Wearing a crown atop its head, one paw clutches the shield while the other is poised to strike.
The obverse of the 2016 2 oz British Silver Queen’s Beast Lion Coin includes the newest right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Created by Jody Clark in July 2015, this design come from the youngest artist in Royal Mint history to create Her Majesty’s effigy, and depicts the Queen at age 89.
All British Silver Queen’s Beast Coins in this listing are certified MS70 coins by the NGC. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and lack any detracting flaws of any kind on the surface areas.
