The Royal Canadian Mint has made a point in recent years of celebrating the vast natural wealth of the nation on the face of bullion and proof coins. Wildlife-themed coins have been particularly popular, and the latest bullion coin from the mint broke the mold. The Canadian Silver Bison is the world’s first 1.25 oz bullion coin, and is produced annually with new designs. Today, JM Bullion offers the 2016 1.25 oz Canadian Silver Bison coin in perfect condition for purchase.
Coin Highlights:
Canadian Silver Bison coins follow in the footsteps of numerous wildlife-themed bullion and proof coins from the Royal Canadian Mint. The trend started in 2011 with the Canadian Wildlife Series, which itself was followed by a variety of new series such as the Birds of Prey and 1.5 oz Wildlife Series coins.
All 2016 Canadian Silver Bison coins available in this product listing are perfect Mint State 70 specimens. The NGC notes that an MS70 coin has its full, original luster and no detracting flaws on its surfaces.
In order to be identified as an Early Release product, coins must be sealed and shipped from the mint to the NGC or an NGC-approved depository within the first 30 days of the date of issue for the coins.
On the reverse face you’ll find the latest design of a bison in the coin series, which features one of the massive beasts sipping cool water from the side of a creek. On the obverse you’ll notice the familiar right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
All 2016 Canadian Silver Bison coins have the latest security features from the Royal Canadian Mint. Micro-laser engraved radial lines are visible on both sides of the coin, as well as a maple leaf privy on the reverse. The privy mark contains the year of issue within its design, but is visible only under magnification.
