Each of these 2016 1 oz Reverse Proof Isle of Man Silver Angel Coins has a brilliant reverse proof finish. These coins were meticulously struck four times to product a stunning frosted finish on the background fields of the obverse and reverse sides, with a mirrored finish on the design sets for both sides.
As a Brilliant Uncirculated specimen, these coins also exhibit no signs of wear and tear. However, most BU coins have minor flaws such as breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks resulting from production.
On the reverse of the 2016 1 oz Reverse Proof Isle of Man Silver Angel is the image of the Archangel of St. Michael as it slays the dragon. Engravings include the coin’s metal content, purity, and weight.
The obverse side of the Isle of Man Silver Angel bears the image of Queen Elizabeth II, captured in right-profile relief by Ian Rank-Broadley. Engravings on this face including the Queen’s name and the nation of issue, along with the year of issue.
Pobjoy Mint is a private British Mint that contracts with countless small governments to produce official coinage. In addition to Isle of Man, Pobjoy works with nations such as Vanuatu, Sierre Leone, Pitcairn Islands, and Ascension Island, just to name a few.
