Superhero-themed feature films have smashed box-office records in recent years. With the upcoming release of the Batman v. Superman feature film, superheroes are coming to precious metal coins from the Royal Canadian Mint to smash more sales records.
In DC Comics, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman form a trinity of superheroes saving the world from the evils of mankind. The coins in this product listing have brilliant contrasts of frosted silver and bright colors, bringing the three heroes to life through the efforts of RCM engravers.
On the reverse each coin is the colorized-image of each of the three superheroes in the center, with their names engraved in Kryptonian syllabic writing as established by Canadian linguist Dr. Christine Schreyer. The background on this side features a “shattered-glass” visualization that is achieved through various-sized polygons with strong, matte finishes.
The obverse of the coin includes the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. The portrait of Her Majesty is accompanied by engravings of her name, the phrase “D.G. Regina,” and the nation of issue.
The Royal Canadian Mint, with facilities in the federal capital of Ottawa and the city of Winnipeg, is introducing a variety of Batman v. Superman-themed coins in 2016 that are sure to excite both investors and collectors.
