Australian Kangaroo Gold coins are guaranteed for weight and purity by the Australian government. These coins are produced in a total of five different weights, ranging from a 1 Kilogram coin to this 1/10 oz coin, the smallest in the series.
The design motif of Australian Kangaroo Gold coins focuses on the world’s largest marsupial in its natural environment. Each of the four smaller coins in the series feature the same design, with the 1 Kilogram coin using its own unique design. All coins in this product listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, indicating a coin that has no signs of wear and tear, though you may see spotted surfaces or breaks in the luster.
On the obverse face is the image of Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley. The right-profile portrait of Her Majesty is surrounded by engravings that include her name, the nation of issue, and face value of the coin.
The reverse of each coin features the all-new 2016 Australian Kangaroo Design. In the depiction, a lone kangaroo is featured resting on its tail in the middle of a barren landscape, with a silhouette visible in the background that depicts a second kangaroo. Engravings on this side read “Australian Kangaroo,” “2016,” “1 oz. 9999 Gold.”
Perth Mint is located in the state of Western Australia, and since the 1970s it has been a state-owned entity of the local government. Though its coins are considered legal tender, it is not affiliated with the Royal Australian Mint system.
