The 2015-W1 oz High Relief Gold Liberty Coin is a completely new vision for the United States Mint. The iconic images of Lady Liberty and the bald eagle, featured on American coins for over a century now, are re-envisioned by modern artists who brought the same attention to detail to coin design, while preserving the patriotic spirit found on American coins for decades.
On the obverse side of each is a new-look Lady Liberty. Created by the United States Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program artist Justin Kunz, a youthful Lady Liberty is featured in full-figure relief, with a torch in her right hand and the American flag in her left.
The reverse image was designed by another Artistic Infusion Program participant, Paul Balan. His depiction of the bald eagle features the majestic creature in full flight as it carries an olive branch in its talons. His creation was brought to life on the coin by engraver Don Everhart.
Each of the 2015-W 1 oz High Relief Gold Liberty Coins in this listing is in perfect condition according to the PCGS. An MS70 coin has its full, original luster, and no detracting flaws of any kind. The Gold Foil Label in the plastic slab indicates the coin is part of the First Strike Series from the United States Mint. Each coin was received by PCGS within the first 30 days of the release date.
