The America the Beautiful coin series from the United States Mint is designed to celebrate the varying natural environments, inspirational leaders, and critical moments from US history. Each year, the Mint releases five new designs for the ATB coin series.
Coin Highlights:
Introduced in 2010, the America the Beautiful coin series is slated to run through at least 2021. Each year, the US Mint will release five new coins with different designs honoring people, places, and events from American history. When the coin series finally comes to an end, each of the 50 US states will be represented on a 5 oz silver bullion coin, as well as the District of Columbia and the nation’s five territories.
On the reverse side of the coins in this product listing is the image of a wild turkey soaring over the pine trees of the Kisatchie National Forest in northern Louisiana. The coin’s year of minting is engraved on this side. The obverse bears the traditional left-profile bust of President George Washington as featured on all American quarters.
The United States Mint produces the majority of the bullion coins in the ATB series at the Philadelphia Mint, even though they bear no mint mark to identify a production point.
